AHURA MAZDA is the Persian-born multidisciplinary artist, scientist, and self-proclaimed God. He is one of the founders of MÖTH AGENCY, a queer-owned boutique label representing high-caliber artists in the East & South-East Asian region. He has curated a unique and experimental soundscape that combines hardcore music with modern pop, hyper-pop, and “Tik Tok” rage music, exploring masculinity, sex, liberation, and what it means to be free in a world of autocratic and hierarchical leadership. 

Since the start of his career, Ahura has co-founded MÖTH AGENCY, MÖTH Community Radio, and Duchessland - All queer-run infrastructure that support and represent femmes and queers in the region. He has played on both international and local stages of ARCAN Saigon, 宀 Club, DarkMetaz, Duchessland, V2X, MÖTH AGENCY, & more.

His sound is new, and roots from his experiences as an Iranian born in an authoritarian regime as he blends multiple global genres including industrial techno, sigma music, brazilian phonk, gangsta rap, middle eastern rhythms, and UK Grime into one soundbox that he feels liberates the soul. 

Throughout Ahura’s career as fashion & documentary photographer, classical pianist, molecular biologist, marine environmentalist, computational biologist, and now a performing artist, he has learned that the world is far vaster and more complicated than we might imagine. He hopes that his art is the medium by which people achieve self-liberation and love, and become the best unique versions of themselves in their lifetime.

Ahura’s message is simple: to not fear the love this world has to offer and his mantra is that philosophy and knowledge can save the soul. With a Ph.D. in Computational Genetics, he hopes to use his experience in academia to inspire young creatives to see the multi-faceted creativity that the world has to offer.
